Blue Horizons Wellness is providing yoga and meditation classes to Veterans, Active Duty, Police and Fire, and their families (children 9 and older are welcome to attend the class) on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. These classes consist of yoga poses and movement for the first 50-60 minutes followed by guided relaxation and/or meditation.

Yoga and meditation support the well-being of our service members (Vets, Active Duty, Fire, Police, EMS and other First Responders) and their families and foster meaningful connections between military and service communities and civilian communities.

Yoga and meditation are mind-body practices that promote health and well-being.  Research shows that these practices can:

  •      Reduce stress.
  •      Reduce sensation of chronic pain.
  •      Improves sleep.
  •      Creates a sense of calm in body & mind.
  •      Decrease symptoms associated with PTSD and trauma.

Our teachers have training through Warriors at Ease*.
Sign up for a class today!    Classes are by Donation.  That means if you cannot afford to pay for the class you don't have to.  But it also means, if you can pay for the class, please drop a $10 bill in the jar.  And, if you can afford to pay for a friend or someone you don't know, please drop in funds for them.
*Warriors at Ease (WAE) is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 to respond to the need for specially trained yoga and meditation teachers to serve the military community.  WAE, together with leading research institutions, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), have cultivated an innovative approach that is changing the face of soldier and veteran’s care.

Blue Horizons Wellness's mission is to increase awareness about the power of yoga and meditation to facilitate healing and to share evidenced-based practices that support health and healing for those suffering from PTS and other trauma.
